Combat team physical fitness exam (egzamin sprawności fizycznej ZB)
The JWK combat team exam has three graded core events — 3,000 m, strict pull-ups and a 200 m breaststroke swim — where grade 5 is required and a 4 is accepted in only one of them. On the day, 4 of 7 additional events are announced and every one must be passed, plus compulsory height skills such as a caving ladder. The exam can be taken at most three times.

Rates from the 2026 pay regulation (Dz.U. 2026 poz. 212, applied from 1 Jan 2026) and the consolidated allowances regulation (Dz.U. 2026 poz. 611); allowances are multiples of a fixed 1,500 zł. Pay depends on the pay group of the post, not on personal rank, and actual JWK posts are not public. The service allowance range is the statutory bracket set by the commander; the default is a corporal with 4 years of service, less than 3 in the unit, on a post with parachute jumps. JWK has no unit-specific special allowance: only the general ones (jumps, diving), and only the highest of them.

Questions
What do the two levels mean?
The core events are graded 5 or 4, and the required average is 5, so a 4 is accepted in only one of them; the minimum level shows grade 4 and the higher level grade 5. The additional events are simply passed or failed at one standard. With two 4s and all additional events passed, one or both core events can be retaken on another date; otherwise the whole exam starts again.
Have the standards changed?
Yes. The 2024 version asked for 16/14 pull-ups and allowed a technical (kipping) style; today it is 15/13, strict. Swimming was 50 m in 45/55 s instead of today’s 200 m breaststroke in 4:30/5:00, and the underwater swim was 20 m instead of 25 m. The caving ladder was added later.
Where do the numbers come from?
From the JWK document “Konkurencje i normy W-F ZB” (PDF of 11 March 2026), linked from the “Egzamin sprawności fizycznej ZB” page on jwk.wp.mil.pl and read on 18 October 2026; the 2026 dates come from the unit’s schedule PDF of 17 April 2026, the entry requirements from its “Zawodowa służba wojskowa” page.
